Several months ago I committed to traveling to Ghana as part of a short-term study abroad opportunity to take place December of 2017. Returning home to the continent has always been a dream of mine, and something I used to discuss at length with my late-mother. Well, now I have the opportunity. It has not often been my way to solicit help or support online this way, but I figured, maybe, just maybe, someone would be interested in assisting. Because I had to commit several months ago, the trip is happening regardless of what I raise. Donations will determine the level of out-of-pocket expenses I must pay, or loans I must incur.
If you have ever learned from my work, appreciated my presentations or scholarship, valued the equity, diversity and inclusion efforts I've led and supported, or just enjoyed a cover that I have recorded, I'd love your consideration!
Below there are two links to monetarily support my trip either with Paypal or the Cash App, both of which come directly to me. I opted to do this as opposed to the traditional GoFundMe or YouCaring platforms to eliminate any fees associated with using those services as they take part of your donation.
All funds given will go towards the program fee of approximately $5000 which includes all the expenses on the University side as well as most in-country expenses. Personal notes will be sent to all donators as well as email and photo updates at the conclusion of the trip. I will also share a reflection essay to all donators as a thank you. Donations of $100 or more will receive a special gift from Ghana as my special thanks to you. So please be sure to include an email or contact in the notes or comment section of whichever platform you donate through.
Certainly I understand all of our financial situations are different, if you are unable to donate, sharing the link this page would also be tremendous help.
I love you all to life, thanks for your consideration, and I can't wait for this transformational experience!
